HW: Need Definitions

It's a Chook (well that's what us Aussies call Chickens) that has
been readered in a cage for the sole purpose of producing eggs (for
all those eggnogs?)

It can mean 'Suspect' (as in not to be trusted), but in this case it
does mean understand
