Drum solos

I think that part of the problem is that when a band has a drum solo,
the rest of the band stops playing.  They seem wedded to the idea that
music comes in layers, with the drums at the bottom, then the bass,
then rhythm guitar, then vocals or lead guitar.  You can peal off
some of the higher levels, but you can't have a bass providing the
solid rhythm while the drums play fills and polyrhythms over the top.

I like rhythms, but I like to have interlocking rhythms, with two (or more)
people playing off each other.  One drummer has a hard time (although he
does have two feet and two hands...).
