Can't comment on the royalties/money aspect as I don't know anything about
it.
As far as recognition is concerned - after Al's departure came Club Ninja.
This is not a CN bashing thing, but (RBN apart) all the other (studio)
albums were by a band (as in an organic thing, all working together).
Indeed, IMHO, Al seemed to be have the greatest number of writing credits
over these years. CN is only half a BOC album, the rest being written by
outsiders. The best tracks on CN are written by and with the band, the
other tracks would not have been there before as tracks by Al and Joe
would have filled their places - making it a proper BOC album as in the old
sense). Al's overall influence over BOC cannot be denied, if you took Al
and Sandy Pearlman out of the origins and early years of the band it may have
ended earlier or become a very ordinary Rock band.
But still love 'em.
