One small thought at a Time today -
About coffee - Wish I had this special blend this morning.>Oh yeah AB,
almost forgot. Bought some ass kickin' beans the other day. They were
Vanilla Almond Raspberry! I grind 'em course and then I freeze 'em.
Anyway, this stuff had cooked for 3 hours and it was fiiiiiiine. Poured 3
creamers in it and it still looked like hot tar. Yowza that's good! Nectar
of the gods! Courtesy of Torgo!
Directory - Got some more corrections today and posted them. Don't know if
the problem was the service or the changes my people made thursday night but
received very little list mail friday. What say we extend the deadlines
from Monday and tuesday to tueesday and Wenesday. Sound ok to you Charles
G.? Will send directory to your address wenesday about 4pm est. Thanks.
Show Reviews - Hmmmm. Seems Dr. Bob would have been better off making the
trip to Cleveland. Must give you one rasberry though Dr. Bob for not
recognizing Flaming Telepaths "the jokes on you". One of my top three
songs. The Silo dosen't sound like a good place to see a show. In regards
to BOC playing these venues I prefer the clubs myself with the atmosphere
and better access to the potty and bars. BOC does do larger venues though
it depends on the show. Not that their headlining Madison Square Garden or
anything but some of the festivals and rally's where they appear are out
side and pretty big. Note the Cleveland review, that layout sounds a lot
closer to Jaxx where I saw them and was much more comfortable. I too
noticed though that BOC seems to have a problem with the vocals; it could be
the audience trying to outsing the band. I know at Jaxx many sang along on
every song, but that portion of their show does seem somewhat degraded.
Good honest review though. Like Duane's and no I didn't get there the wife
wouldn't let me go. They still haven't replaced the accoustic guitars?
Does anyone know how long they have been piping that story. Didn't have
them at Jaxx (Oct. 20) and still played In Thee. Guys, either buy some new
ones or drop In Thee.
Buck's Playing - Buck is "Da Man" and has been for many years. The great
thing about Buck is that he has never really hopped around the stage acting
like a beserker; I have always enfjoyed the way he just plays guitar. He's
getting on in years but he could really teach so many of the younger guys
the proper way to play this instrument. If Buck were to hang em up
tomorrow, would Steve Vai make a good replacement?
Eric's - Singing. While I love the original lienups vocals (how many bands
could claim to have four qaulity lead singers) it occurred to me Friday
night listening to ST that of all my favorite, no doubt about it BOC songs,
Eyes does lead on all of them. I still say a Bouchard song is best done by
a Bouchard, however an Eyes song can only be done by Eyes!
AOL thing - O.k. so some of you played HBO commercial and didn't get it. I
do as do a few others. The Hulk and Spidey will definitely win, take it to
vegas.
Random Access - I though Robo was in a Band. Perhaps he should have taken
the opening acts guitar and started a one man gig at the Reading show.
John S. has a wonderful way of planting us spacey dreamers feet back on
Terra Firma with his insights to the band and their future. Definitely the
right man for the FAQ ("just the FAQ's mam"). If you ever go to lurker
status I promise to fly to New England and tie your fingers to the keyboard
guy.
Endre - Ready willing and able, just let us know.
Prognotications - Ab see very well into the future and make this point about
predictions. Old time friends of the band will help them flush out enough
material to do an album. Some may actually play but most of it will come
from impromptu jam sessions. Will happen at the annual BOC and friends
picnic this summer (don't ask me what that is, just saw it in a vision
o.k.). 6th member, yes this too will happen. Why? Because the new album
will require Alan to devote almost full time to keyboards, Eyes to singing
and yet require a caddy for Buck. It will be the same sound but Alan will
not have to work as hard and the bands sound will benefit from his increased
contributions on the keys. Not to flame Eyes but we know he dosen't possess
the necesarry skills to caddy for Buck on Guitar and he can't play the keys,
someone will have too. Save this cause you read it here first.
Acer Aspire - 90 mhz, 1 gig and all the trimmings, nice.
