ok - the latest Hawkwind update from Brian Tawn is out and here are his
dates for the tour. NB he says that "this list is an updated one and
doesn't match the flyers which were recently distributed, so take
note.... there have been changes!"

Oct 12 Glasgow Barrowlands
Oct 13 Lancaster Sugar House
Oct 15 Liverpool Royal Court
Oct 16 Manchester Academy
Oct 18 Cardiff St. David's Hall
Oct 19 Bristol Colston Hall
Oct 20 Wolverhampton Civic Hall
Oct 21 London Brixton Academy
Oct 23 Portsmouth Guild Hall
   =================================
Oct 26 Bochum Zeche
Oct 27 Hamburg Markthalle
Oct 28 Berlin Marquee
Oct 29 Erlangen E Werk
Oct 31 Paris Arapho
Nov 1 Brussels La Luna
Nov 2 Amsterdam Melkweg

Apparently the extra guitarist is no longer with the band although Ron
Tree still is.

The Hawkwind EP is due out on Sept 18. Called Area S. 4. [yep - this
is what Brian Tawn calls it - he *may* have it wrong perhaps...]
Release will be CD and vinyl. Tracklist: Alien I Am (shorter version
than on the album), Death Trap, Wastelands and Are You Losing Your Mind.
Sputnik Stan is an extra track on the vinyl. [in effect this is the
recent tour set]

Album due out on Sept 25 called Alien 4. On vinyl and CD. Tracklist:
Abducted, Alien I am, Reject Your Human Touch, Blue Skin, Beam Me Up,
Vega, Xenomorph, Journey, Sputnik Stan, Kapal, Festivals, Death Trap,
Wastelands, Are You Losing Your Mind. Extra track on the vinyl will be
Space Sex.

He reckons it's an excellent album with Alien I Am, Vega (I assume an
instrumental), Sputnik Stan and Xenomorph standing out as particularly
good tracks.

Various new releases get a mention including Simon House 'Yassassim' and
Nik Turner's 'Anubian Lights'

Hawkwind related include: Zero Gravity 'Space Does Not Care' on the
Hypnotic (Cleopatra offshoot) label with Pressurehead's Len Del Rio;
also Tommy Grenas and sampled guests including Nik Turner. Also
Melting Euphoria 'Upon The Solar Winds' - no Hawkwind link except that
it sounds like "a hybrid of Hawkwind, The Orb and Ozric Tentacles". BT
reckons it's reminiscent of the first Hawkwind album and early jams of
In Search of Space tho it tends towards rhythms and electronics with
not much lead guitar in evidence [NB - I paraphrase him somewhat here!]

Also 'A Saucerful of Pink' is a double CD tribute to Pink Floyd
including track by Nik Turner and Simon House.

And the Darxtar address for the compilation casette is: SBM Sweden,
VoxJovagen 55, 57010 Kossberga, Sweden.

HawkEye 4 ed. Adrian Parr will be ready in mid- Sept - price 2.50
pounds UK 3.00 pounds rest of Europe and 5.00 pounds outside.

cheers

jill
