...I just had to add to this thread that it's a testament to the genius of
Robert Calvert that he could make a lyric as ridiculous as:

"... and it says 'oh for the wings of any bird
 other than a battery hen'
 but that's the Spirit of the Age ..."

come out as one of the most poignant pieces of poetry I've ever read or heard.
