well - no news actually 8-(
I've just had a release from Hawknews-Hawkdisc, PO Box 2096 London, W12
9XZA (which I'm guessing is Doug Smith by any other name).
Excepts follow:
"With '95 drawing to a close, the band took the road for both a number
of UK and European dates which all proved to be a great success. The
tour was recorded and filmed for release in May.... as Emergency
Broadcast System's new release "Love In Space". Released in full on
two CDs packed inside a beautiful double CD digipak and featuring
paintings by Alan 'The Ghost' Arthurs [there's a small black and white
pic attached and it does look beautiful with a ghost-like guitar-playing
Alien inside the Arrowhead Hawkwind symbol against a magnificent
galactic starscape. The title (mercifully) being relegated to a small
section at the bottom so it doesn't get in the way of the picture!]
The digipak is a foldout with a slipcase and a 16 page booklet which
features the story of the show, the lyrics and lots of photos from the
tour. Released on May 7th. An EP/single version of the track Love in
Space will be released soon after.
Tracklist: Abducted/Death Trap/Wastelands/Are You Losing Your Mind?/
Photo Encounter/Blue Skin/Sputnic [sic] Stan/Robot/Alien/Xenomorph/
Vega/Love In Space/Kapal/Elfin/Silver Machine/Welcome
(FUTURE) Live plans are still to be formulated, however there's very
little on the horizon for shows in the UK. But it looks like a bumper
year for Europe with a number of festivals in discussion with the band
and two confirmed - one in Germany and the other in Belgium.
HAWKON: has had to be put on the back burner. Plans were in hand for
it to take place at Langollen Eistedford facility but the council
rejected the licence because of sound levels above 60Db.
There's a samples release from the Emergency Broadcast System which will
consist of the best EBS tracks to date + forthcoming ones. Tracklist:
The Camera That Could Lie/GreenFinned Demon/Rizz's Radio Song (inst)/
Frenzzy/Coded Languages/Angels of Death/Yassassim/White Zone/Journey/
Xenomorph/Morbius-Brain Machine/Higher Than Before/Sonic Destruction
(Advent re-mix). The price will be that of a single/EP. No date
mentioned for release.
Other new releases due: debut CD from Spacehead and the Alan Davey
solo project. No further info.
Think that's all!
