Maybe, but the legend of that murderous, treacherous scumbag Hassan I
Sahbah has been around for hundreds of years, although I believe it's
only recently that he's been mythologised into this "Old Man Of The
Mountains" with the beatific catchphrase "Nothing is True, Everything Is
Permissable", like this guy was some Ghandi-like Great Man Of Peace and
pot-advocate. Well, he was a ruthless killer, responsible for the deaths
of thousands. He was definately a terrifying figure.
I must dig out my 1930's biog of the bloke, see if I can write a breif
resume, if anyone's interested.
It's still a great song though!!
