This is all pretty strange, as Buck is very much a techno-head.
Maybe the engineers had a hand in it.  Personally, I like CC, which I
guess just adds to your argument.  Steve Stevens' 'Atomic Playboys'
was recorded direct to digital.  And I saw an interview with him
where he said how much he hated it, and would never record that way.
And, of course, I happen to think it's one of the greatest-sounding
albums I've ever heard!  go figure....
