Some were. I think Hawkwind played a kinda revival Acid-Test gig on
their first US tour as a benefit for Timothy Leary who was then in Jail.
Kris Tait's book has a vignette about Learyites wanting Hawkwind to play
from a silver painted helicopter which would land in the prison yard to
rescue Leary.
