Here's one. We are in Amsterdam about 10AM, the morning of the HW gig. My
wife and I have just hooked up with RJ and Karyn again ( we travelled to
Amsterdam seperately-RJ and Karyn by plane, me and Bev by train
hydrofoil-train) . We finished breakfast at a coffeeshop and were strolling
thru some back streets when the girls decide to do a little shopping. RJ and
myself were not really inclined to shop so we were just standing in the
middle of this medieval sort of street when we spot these two large posters
advertising the HW gig in Germany. So we are standing there reading these
posters, stoned, when out of the corner of my eye I see an arm reach out and
grab RJ by the neck, rather violently, I'm thinking, here we go, big fight,
night in jail, thrown out of country, miss HW gig, until I look up and see
the arm belongs to Ron Tree. Here we are in a foreign country, to see HW,
reading HW posters on a wall, and HW's lead singer is standing right there
next to us--fuckin amazin:-))))).
One problem I am having is trying to explain to people what we did on our
vacation. It is pretty much like this: Arrive in London, get 2 Hrs sleep go
to a HW gig. Get up the next day, go to a Hw gig. Get up the next day, go to
another HW gig. Get up the next day, go to another HW gig. Get up early the
next day take obligatory sight seeing pictures (skip a HW gig) go back to
hotel read over back issues of Hawkfrendz, sleep for 10 HRs get up early
catch transportation to Holland to see another HW gig. if it were not for one
day of picture taking no one would believe I went to Europe. The next HW tour
I will follow the RJ sight seeing itinerary--- which is -- if it don't have
anything to do with HW, Fuck it!
I will post further observations I made during the trip at a latter date.
Right now I have alot of business catching up to do. I should have left my
cat in charge of the business, I would have been better off.
