Yeah, but they're German, that's how it's spelt! :)

The purely cosmetic umlaut is a whole 'nother matter...  I'm sure Motorhead's
is in direct tribute to BOC - they toured with them early on, and in one of
the photos on the inner sleeve of _Motorhead_ you can see a _Secret Treaties_
poster.  After that it became a bandwagon.

Symbols are another thing that I think BOC started - Radio Birdman *surely*
did theirs in tribute to BOC, and now even Take That have one.

Queensryche have both, but I don't know what that says!
