Patti Smith on TV

Did anyone catch Patti Smith on BBC2 on Saturday? ("Later" with Jools
Holland).

She was pretty damn good, star quality written all over her. She did an
unaccompanied reading of "People have the Power" and then a song from the
new album, the title of which I forget.

The only disappointment was that she only did the one spot, whereas
everybody else on the programme did two; also I was hoping to hear Tom
Verlaine let rip, but on this show he just played a straight backing part.
