OFF: Re: Jesus Saves, but who collects the interest? (erm, maybe those that re-wrote the bible to suit their needs?)

Note: The author of the post to which I respond has exhibited the kind
of prejudice that have caused wars in the wrong hands. He has lumped all
of a particular group of people - Christians, in this case - into a
category of murderous Cascaders and slave-driving, racist rapists. I
sincerely hope he is in the minority here on BOC-L. Of what I've seen
from the rest of you, that thankfully seems to be the case.

1) I never said I agreed with the many historical "Christians" who caused
such suffering.

2) I do think for myself, thank you.

No, I did not say I don't care about those on the receiving end of
racial hatred; I said I find it difficult to empathize with them. Have
you ever had a burning crucifix in your backyard? I sure haven't.
Have you ever had a gun in your face because you are a "Jew-boy"? I sure
haven't, though in the case of the latter example, I am a candidate. In
other words, I do think racism is terrible; but, while for some it is the
#1 issue in their life, I'm neither a victim nor a part of the problem,
so it isn't as big an issue. Understand?

Nope. The whole thing, actually. I'm not perfect, and therefore can't
succeed in following it the whole time (1 John 1:8), but I do try.

I'm not a theologian, so I'm not quite equipped to respond to that; then
again, you're not a theologian either. When I see evidence of this
rewriting (different translations don't count, BTW), we'll talk.
Otherwise, I'll respect your beliefs (those that don't include hatred)
and hope (and pray) that you'll respect mine.

1) That's up to God.
2) It'll probably be NIN, not Duran Duran. :)
2a) Actually, it'll probably be Led Zeppelin played backwards. :)

P.S.: To the BOC-Lers not interested in this thread, I apologize for
continuing to contribute to this thread (and for starting it) after I
said I'd stop. I will try to restrict myself to simply responding to
those posts with (sp?) misguided comments about / categorization of me.

Oh yeah, and stuff about Hawkwind too. (Remember them?) :)
