It was definitely a weird scene, but then I have a feeling that
Hawkwind has always been kind of a spectacle, for better or worse.
I've seen the videos, I've heard the stories. ;-) Frankly, Ron
Bastard didn't seem any more out of place than the tales I've heard
about Nik (and Calvert?).
I think part of the reason I liked having Ron there was because it
sort of made up for Dave and Alan hiding in the wings. And no, I
don't particularly think they were hiding in the wings *because* Ron
was there. I think they've just been going through another phase,
like Hawkwind seems prone to do every few years. I'm sure they'll be
back on stage, as soon as Dave finds his guitar. ;-)
