On most performances (including the original) it's 'kiss the sky' alright.
But on one video (Berkeley?) I think Hendrix actually says 'kiss this guy' -
Hendrix is also grinning in Mitch Mitchell's direction during this line.

Dream Theater: 'you drop a bottom line with a dollar sign'; I heard 'you dot
a dotted line with a dotted sign', but that didn't make much sense.
Then I still don't know what is correct: 'in the back of a rented Ford' or
'an ancient Ford'?

We could make quite a list from these misinterpretated lines...
