Well, IMO of course, the original is genius godhead stuff the like of which we
are rarely privileged to witness, and the remake is (slightly surprisingly)
not a travesty, but actually quite good in its own right.

If you wonder why the tempo is unvarying, though, I believe I'm right in
saying this is the one where Nik taped the vocal parts to a metronome, and
then sent the tapes to Creed & Co (whom he'd not actually met at that time).
