HW: Bedouin (Alan Davey)

hi,
some small news from bedouin.

just recieved from alan, a letter, and two copies (one for bill stewart) of
the bedouin ep.
it is blue translucent vinyl. it was originally supposed to be one sided
only, but they
printed the same material, both sides. alan joked that it would last twice
as long. ;)

tracks are:
rock palace
wadi dhar
passion is an animal
al hadin


it is all pretty damned good. does NOT sound like hawkwind, nor does it
really resemble "captured rotation."
it is a new sound. the last track, 'al hadin', sounds genuinely
mid-eastern.

alan sent a copy to doug s., and doug really liked it, said he wanted to
move the release date up from sept, to july.
not carved in stone, but fingers crossed.

this is old news, but he said bedouin is off on its first mini-tour, and
would be headlining the german fest.

 he mentioned that he was really working toward a mini-tour of east- U.S.
i have a feeling that bedouin will be transforming a bit in various ways
before they
are settled.

he arranged a one-off with himself, danny t, and huw lloyd, but it got
cancelled for whatever reason. he hopes to try it again.
