i think you are right. you can't do much more than that. scare tactics
NEVER work.
the truth often will.  in school, i was lied to. i was told that ANY drugs
would make me lose my grip on reality, that i would see hallucinations and
such.
dammit, i wanted to SEE those pink elephants! i never did. what i saw was
an over-whelming desire to stay stoned. i saw myself spend half my 12th
grade year skipping class, from an A average to a big fat zero. i found
myself out of school, out of work,
and ousted by my family.
i found myself in the army, thinking it was all that was left for me to do.
see, they lied to me again and told me my life was over cos i dint
graduate. i would never find a job.
well graduating is just what oz gave to the lion,scarecrow,and tinman. a
big placebo.
not saying it has no value, it has a LOT of value. but its real value is in
self-esteem.
this sounds like a sob story, but it isnt. i am happy with the way things
turned out.
i regret the lost time, but i have whatever time remains. i am using it
much more wisely now. i now return you to your reg-u-lar-ly scheduled
program.
