And besides, he could never have stood for election to the House of Commons if
he was really a nob. He got the nickname because he used to wear a top hat
(still does, in fact), which made him look a bit like Lord Snooty in the
Beano. the "screaming" comes from Screaming Jay Hawkins.
He cut at least five singles with various incarnations of the Savages (who
counted Ritchie "Bluebell" Blackmore among their number for a while on '62),
but any album is almost certainly just a compilation of these.
He first stood for Parliament in 1963, for the National Teenage Party - among
whose shocking demands was votes at the age of 18! - but didn't stand this
time because he had to look after his mum.
