Welcome Cheryl (your e-mail says yer name is "Ted") to BOC-L!
You are about to find that there is a fair wealth of BOC information
on-line. First there's the folks here on BOC-L - many who have been
fans since the 70s, many who will give you lots of music recommendations
(both BOC and non-BOC). Also, we are honored to have the presence of
Albert Bouchard, the original drummer for BOC, as a member of this
list. If you like a lot of the early BOC stuff, you know doubt appreciate
his influence on that music; and therefore may appreciate the music of
his new band, The Brain Surgeons (they've got 3 CDs out, and those of
us who've heard them, for the most part, RAVE about them) - however, I
should point out that The Brain Surgeons (or tBS as you will see them
referred to here) are very different from BOC, despite sharing Albert's
influence.
Aside from the people, as someone else already pointed out, there's the
BOC FAQ. Not wanting to toot my own horn too much (as I am the editor
of the FAQ), it is perhaps the largest single collection of BOC information
on the internet - and while I may be the editor, lots of people helped
me with it, most notably Bolle Gregmar, the BOC fanclub's president.
But, I should really credit BOC-L for the genesis of the FAQ, for without
BOC-L, I never would have thought or dared to attempt the project. O.K.,
enough of the fanfare - to get it, you can FTP it from the BOC-L
archives (which you should have got info on when you signed up), or if
you have a browser, go to one of the following URLs:
ftp://ftp.spc.edu/boc-l/boc_faq-2_2.txt
http://www.asan.com/users/alexg/boc_faq-2.2.html
The second URL has a HTML version of the FAQ, which looks much cooler on
a browser than the straight text version. Otherwise, the information
contained is the same in either version.
There are also numerous BOC web sites - the FAQ lists most of the major
ones, including a website for The Brain Surgeons.
Have fun, and welcome aboard!
John
PS: In case you were wondering, BOC is still alive and well, and will
(hopefully) be releasing a new album (tentatively titled "Ezekiel's
Wheel") by years end.
