OFF US vs. UK audiences

This struck me as classic. Over here it's the other way around generally. I admit I used to like general admission, standing shows, but later as I got older, seating was prefered. My feet hurt man! When IQ played San Jose they were like, what's with these people they're all sitting down. Get up, dance, whatever. No shouts of "Get on with it!". Some goes for Swedish band Landberk, they smoked at Progfest 95, and were shocked that everyone was sitting. The keyboard player even said,"This isn't a fucking movie, stand up." Of couse at Progfest, no way you're gonna stand for 6-8 hours, but Landberk was kicking holy butt and were all grooving in our seats. The main advantage to standing is you can get position relativly easy, with seats you are SOL. I know some clubs here are now altering depending on the band. Gong played a seated venue and they pulled the tables and chairs out. But we used to have many clubs with drink minimums and you can keep track of drink consumption in a table environment very easy. Where the hell am I going with all this, any opinions, Stand or sit?
