I've heard both, and, for my money, "Cymbaline" beats "Gimme Shelter"
hands down. Oddly enough, I haven't heard the original to "Cymbaline," so
I can't say how Hawkwind's cover compares to it. As a song in itself, I
really like it. In fact, it's possibly my favourite off the remastered
_Hawkwind_ CD.
(Sound of jaw dropping and hitting the floor...)
You have never heard the original "Cymbaline" by Pink Floyd?!?! Getcher butt
out to a CD Emporium right now and snag the remastered version of the soundtrack
"More" and listen to the original. This is one of my favorite early Floyd releases and the
new remasters do for the Floyd what the EMI's did for the Hawks. The music on "More" is
all over the spectrum, so don't give up if you don't like the song thats' playing; wait two minutes
and it'll change...

Discounting "Cymbaline," I think I would've chosen "Bring It On Home"
above "Gimme Shelter," though. I cringe quite a bit when "Gimme
Shelter's" playing. But that's just me... :-)
Cheers,
Paul.
