Speaking as a Reading resident I say go to London. Far more interesting
stuff to do, and you get to travel on the very boring tube instead of the
very boring M4, which is more prone to delays. I would agree that Covent
Garden is a good bet for enjoying a short time in London. Not fantastic
for record shops, but records are so expensive over here I wouldn't bother
unless there is something you are desperate for.
