Possible BOC reference in Hawkmoon

I was just rereading the Hawkmoon books
(of numerous connections to Hawkwind, including
dedications to Dave and Nik, in the WW omnibus
editions) and noticed a character who assists Hawkmoon
in the third book ("Sword of the Dawn") named "Bewchard",
who is a boat captain in the city of "Narleen" in the
legendary lost continent of Amerehk.
Coincidence?  These were written long before
he hooked up with Eric to write lyrics for BOC...

But still...  and it almost works to catch the
Del Rio's song about leaving New Orleans on a boat...
(shortly after leaving Narleen and Bewchard on a
boat Hawkmoon encounters a crisis with storms of
supernatural origin...)
