Yes the gig was great.  There was just one layer of bodies btw me and
the stage, as you can tell from the pics.  And they were short people (
I am only 5 8 ) so I could see right over them.

Alien Planetscapes played before the boys but after a really rotten band

named bunny brain or some such nonsense. Alien Planetscapes were very
good and I expect they will be popular with the faithful. Their unique
sound revolves around a sax man who plays very discordantly.  They play
all instrumentals and someone near me said they reminded him of Ozric
Tentacles, and I agree somewhat.

I am lousy with set lists and that such, but I would say that we got a
great Golden Void, Hassan I sabba, a very different Camera never lies, a

fantastic Brainstorm, Sonic Attack and Love in Space.  The new songs
were good though I enjoyed the Reptiloid number the best of the new
stuff.  One of the new songs sounded more like standard, but good, metal

than something particularly Hawkish but maybe if I heard it again I
would think differently.  Ron came onboard painted in white paint from
his jeans to his chest and glowed purple in the Black Lights.  They had
difficulty getting going and in points during the show because the stage

was so small.  In fact Dave had to use a torch to get his midis and such

going and ron kicked out one of his effects boxes accidentally at one
point in the show.

Over all this was a nearly religious experience for me as I have been a
fan since I heard stuff from QSaC in '78 but had never seen the boys
having missed them two years ago.  I was one happy camper driving the
three hours home from NYC to Albany NY, thought a little tone
deaf.........

I didn't know them at the time but Ron and Jerry were sitting at the
back of the club during the first band (who were fairly good) (but I
can't rem their name) I saw them but had no clue who they were untill I
saw them on stage.  And I had my CD booklet from Live Chronicles for
autographs!!!  Mr. Brock stated that Lemmy was not at the Festival
because his manager wanted him flown First Class from Los Angeles to the

tune of $1600, I don't know if that story is apocryphal or not, you can
decide.  Even though there were many technical "slow ups" I will call
them during the show Dave was always smiling or laughing, I think that
is the secret to his longevity.  I think Ron was getting a little miffed

with the whole thing but Jerry seemed unaffected by it.  Mr. Chadwick
was outstanding as expected.

I met some Boc-L ers at the gig and I wanted to especially say hi to
Chuck and Manny.  When it was apparent that they were not going to play
an encore I bolted out the door into the cool NYC air and didn't get a
chance to say farewell to the folks I met so I hope this suffices. Jim
Lasko did a superlative job of putting the mini tour together and kudos
to him as well.
