. Miami needs to bench Marino but Jimmy will wait to the
> off season to take care of that.
>Ghost, are you into those special-blend coffee beans again? Bench a
>shoe-in hall of famer? What's next, pinch hitting for McGwire?
Uh no, coffee that is. I base this on what I saw Sunday Night. Danny is
the real problem with that offense. Good example the high pass he threw
down there on the goal line. Couple years back thats in the receivers belly
before the DB's can blink. Sunday it was high towards the face mask and
gave the DB's an opportunity to make a play. When a QB's arm begins to go,
passes that need "mustard" start floating high. Saw a lot of this Sunday.
Also recall that Marino historically had been one of the least sacked QB's.
See how many times he gets up from the dirt now? Compare Sunday to Marino
facing that 46 defense of the 85 Chicago Bears. That grouped mauled QB's
yet they could never touch Dan that night. The release of the ball is the
key, its not as quick by a long shot.
>Actually, the problem isn't with Dan, it's with the game plan. And
I'm not even sure there's anything wrong with that. Jimmy,
correctly, realizes that running offense wins Super Bowls. But
Marino's been running a passing, air superiority offense all his
career.
Yeah a good running game and defense wins championships and the fins have
two of three. Jabbar finding it tough because 8 men are in the box. The
league no longer believes Dan can beat you with his arm.
>Tough to change gears now. Really, you don't need a great
QB to win the Super Bowl. Dallas has done it 3 times that way in
recent memory, with Jimmy coaching 2 of them. I think the problem is
that Dan can't accept the fact that rushing's the key.
The only team to win Superbowls without great QB's have been the Redskins 3
times and the 70 fins twice. Aikman, while not as good as a few years ago
is a top QB.
>Also, Miami's ground game just hasn't been doing it like they should
lately, yet
now the game plan's been simplified minimizing dependence on passing.
Could be disastrous in a playoff situation. Personally, I think Dan
should retire. He has nothing to prove, and unless Tyrell retires in
the next couple of years, Miami isn't likely to make it to another
Super until Dan's career is over anyway...
8 men on the line makes running difficult. Fins also lack a certified
downfield threat.
Please note I make no mention of

>Yeah, well I think Stewart has to do a big bit of growing up before
he's truly a winner. His sidelines display sunday was truly bush
league. But Cowher got even big time in his press conference, eh?
Well you see who's going to the pro bowl this year, all the old guys. Young
QB's just don't make it unless they are special. Kordell, if he keeps his
head on straight may dominate the NFL when he's 30 something.
Gosh I love Football.
