It does deal with different time-speeds in different shadows, but
not specific -going back in time-... though in a sense, you could
travel into the future (faster than you otherwise could) with this
method, as when Corwin recovers on earth to heal quicker than
he could've, amber-time, in amber...
However, while on Zelazny, there is one of his books that readily
addresses this, sort of a cross between time travel and Amber....
"Roadmarks" is a fun read, it suggests roads through time and
conditions of them being related to the likelihood of certain
events (an almost certain time would have a major superhighway
ramp exit from the roads, while an almost impossible time might
have a slightly worn footpath in the grass...)
The protagonist searches for a time that he was from but is no
longer happening, and keeps influencing other nearby
times (this is illegal, there are cops on this road)
hoping that his time might become more likely....
