OFF: Scientology!

L. Ron Hubbard came up with a few somewhat spiffy ideas, and
presented it to a number of scientists.  Everyone to whom he
presented it mentioned what hogwash it was - all of it.  So,
since no one could accept his writings as "science", he
changed the wording, and called it "religion".  Suddenly he
got huge publishing offers, and "Dianetics" and a
significant facet of Scientology were born.
