EC wants to know...

>What is Darxtar up to nowadays?

Hmmmm...good question. Things have been pretty quiet from the SBm camp
these days. Hopefully, that means the group has their noses to the
grindstone working on the new album. I remember the Commander saying it was
to be an ambitious effort, concept album and such, but don't have any details.

The darxtar mailing list has been either completely dead, or off-line for
quite some time now. I guess the relative inactivity of the band has got
folks thinking about other things.

The only two news items from 1998 that I can think of were the performance
at the Jonkoping fest (to those few who were actually there) and the one
track they recorded for the recently-released Genesis tribute CD on
Cleopatra. I've heard it...it's very good, along with the Flower Kings
(also Svenkse) track that immediately follows.

It is a great album...quite diverse. They've branched out from the pure
HW-style space rock, and are created a sound of their own IMHO.

I think both Daybreak and Darker are great albums, and more consistently
like HW in style. Unfortunately, Darker is way oop and seemingly impossible
to find. I think my copy was about the very last one to be attained.
(Thanks, Johan or Henrik...can't remember who got that for me). But both
Daybreak and the eponymous debut are still seen at various places. I think
CD Jungle (www.cdjungle.com/prog1.txt for a list of in-stock items) in
Portugal has the debut...or I'm sure you could contact Soren directly via
Sonique's page and order a copy (and you could ask him to autograph a copy
as he did for me). I'd recommend you try to track down Daybreak first, though.
