Oh, definitely! It's alarmingly easy to find too- I got it at
Blockbuster for christ's sake! The above description is accurate too
(I've seen the movie three times so far in the last year). I'm sure
someone could find a reason to hate it, but it's been a hit with
everyone I've shown it too. The greatest thing about it is how it
manages to look so trippy on such a low budget, and it's got this real
smart-ass, campy sense of humor to it.
It's actually very well directed and seems to have made a big impression
on future space/SF movies. You can notice quite a few scenes that films
like Star Wars and Aliens did take-offs of (like the close-up shot of
the long spaceship going by, R2-D2's head coming out of the top, and
then the alien zipping through the corridors).
