DEEP REDUCTION SAGA MAY BE RESOLVED:
After much frustration, the long awaited Deep Reduction album has
finally been scheduled for a mid November release. The eponymously
titled album was recorded early this year in Mechanicsburg, PA.
Regrettably, the band's cover artwork was rejected by US label Get
Hip and the following (sometimes acrimonious) discussions delayed the
project. Initially it will be available in Australia and Europe as an import.
Deep Reduction combines Deniz with members of the Stump Wizards
on a collaborative project that delves heavily into their roots ... resulting
in a set of garage based hard rock that touches on psychedelic blues,
garage punk and acid folk, with trademark guitars and with most songs
coming in under 3 minutes. Most of the material was written by Deniz in
collaboration with Jack Chiara, and there are two cover versions of
original songs by Michel Polnareff and The Vibrators.

The band is already in the planning stages for their second album,
although it is not yet clear what label it will be on. Interestingly, they have
recruited Blue Oyster Cult guitarist Buck Dharma to assist with
production on Deep Red Two.
