A quick websearch shows that Ed Neumeier has written a screenplay (or at a
treatment).  Neumeier wrote the screenplays for _ST_ and _RoboCop_, among
others.  But it seems to be in very early days.  I bet it's a speculative
punt which may be taken up if Peter Jackson's _Lord of the Rings_ is
successful.
