OFF: NKL?

I received a strange letter in the mail today from the UK concerning a
lottery called the Nordwestdeutsche Klassenlotterie (NKL).

Have any German or other European listmembers heard of or played this
lottery?  I'm not a gambler myself, but the letter has me curious as to
what this NKL is all about.
