HW: Lucky Lief

Recieved my CD of Lucky Lief today - along with what was invoiced as Live at
Queen Elizabeth Hall, but was in fact some band I've never heard of (though
they do a cover of a song I know by The Wolfgang Press) - however I assume
this means QEH is still _gettable_ and that someone else has got it by
mistake :/

Anyway, having lived with Lucky Lief in my collection over 20 years, I was
quite suprised to find atleast two tracks on the CD being different: quite a
bit of extra 'footage' in 'Phase-locked Loop', and an entirely different
(and entirely awful) version of Making of Midgard, with bounced vocals ala
'Song of the Gremlin.' Is this standard on all the CD releases of LL? The
old LP version was so much better; why in hell did they substitute this
version? Is anything else different? Ditto for Capt Lockheed. I got the
distinct impression when I played the CD version that there was dialogue I
didn't recall from the LP, but it's so long since I played either of these
albums on vinyl...

I also couldn't help thinking that when RC recorded Lucky Lief, he pretty
much re-defined the term 'quirky'.  Ok, let's do a concept album about the
Vikings discovering America. Well, this was 1975. Actually it sounds like
something Rick Wakeman might have gotten around to eventually, so I'm glad
Bob beat him to it, because that could have been really excruciating. But
then... let's make it a  _comedy_ album about the Vikings discovering
America. Now this is getting a little weird. But let's put at least one
serious poem on there, too. And oh yes, rather than having some musical
theme, let's make every song of a different genre, so it should really
appeal to anyone who happens to like Heavy Metal, Music Hall, Native chants,
country and western, and The Beach Boys. Well I don't care. I still think
it's a hoot, and Calvert had more musical inventiveness in his little finger
than most indie record labels have in their whole catalogue.

Now here's a real trivia question for you. Can anyone identify any of the tv
shows/movies in Phase-locked Loop?
