I'm game to skimp or spend up to the 55 quid mark.

It'd have to be at least within a reasonable taxi ride I think.

A hall or reasonable sized bar would be good. The other issue would be
finding a hotel that would permit a late party without worrying about
other guests. That's why finding out which ones had handled SF
conventions might be good.

Unfortunately I'm in Edinburgh but I'd do what I could if we can't find
a Londoner. What we really need is at least two dozen of us so that we
have some clout when bargaining with a hotel. Are the others who are
staying in London willing to change hotels if we can make this dog hunt?
