The original members of Humble Pie are reuniting for the first time
in a decade to pay tribute to the late Steve Marriott, who co-founded
the band with Peter Frampton. The tribute concert marking the 10th
anniversary of Marriott's death will be held next Friday, April 20,
at London's Astoria Theatre. Also taking part -- The Who's Roger
Daltrey; former Small Faces members Kenny Jones and Ian McIagan; Paul
Weller; Zak Starkey; Sex Pistol's Glen Matlock; and former Ultravox
frontman Midge Ure, among others. A retrospective of the band's most
important and influential recordings "The Best Of Humble Pie" (A&M/UME)
was recently released. A Herd/Humble Pie/Frampton Anthology is schedule
to hot stores in August. In 1969, Marriott, who had left Small Faces,
and Frampton, formerly of the Herd, joined with ex-Spooky Tooth bassist
Greg Ridley and drummer Jerry Shirley. The band's hit singles included
"Natural Born Woman" (a.k.a. "Natural Born Boogie"), "Stone Cold Fever,"
"Shine On" and "Rollin' Stone." Humble Pie disbanded in 1975. In the
late '80s, Marriott and Frampton planned to reunite. But then Marriott
was killed in a house fire on April 20, 1991. He was 44
