Iron Maiden went through the usual "Oh no, someone oured blood on
the ashes!" bit and have turned out what their fans tell me is a pretty
good album. The Floyd album I only knew about because of a brief and
masochistic stay on alt.music.roger-waters. Like alt.music-deep-purple, I
learned one useful thing in the months I was subscribed and suddenly
thought "Why! Why am I doing this to myself?" But if I hadn't been
subscribed it would have escaped me too. I must say, I don't know *anyone*
who's bought it.

The U2 album isn't very good though. Which is a disappointment to
me as so far everything they'd done had been quality as far as I was
concerned and I had thought they were bankable. But no, it's just a
not-bad pop album.

That's certainly the conclusion I reach whenever I'm forced to
listen to a radio. And Lemmy appears to agree with me so I don't let it
bother me :-)

I got given it for Christmas, anyway.

And that one is good, as we almost all agreed :-)

And I *will* get this one as they started getting interesting last
album rather than just fun. But basically, I'm staying well clear of
anything that charts these days. Yours,
                                        Jon
