i always thought that hawkwind was spacerock?
as far as i can see they have very little in common with the other bands in
the progressive top ten.

Not seen that preview, but the Radio TImes lists the following as being
featured:
Camel, ELP, Genesis, Hawkwind, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Moody Blues, Pink
Floyd, Rush and Yes.
The Observer gave the game away (well, not really) saying that Genesis were
at No.2 and heavily hinted that Floyd are at No.1.
