Ah yes, John whatever-his-name-is was selling some fantastic treasures... I
bought all that I could afford but there were many more. Specifically, he
had some posters I wanted, and a vinyl "Glastonbury Fayre" as well as a
number of odd 12" singles and vinyl rarities like the japanese "Doremi"
which has Silver Machine on it, I believe.
A shame I didn't run into you there, Mike, as I had actually bought any
number of records off of you years previously back in those halcion days
before Cleopatra existed and Brian Perera could get some interesting
artifacts... I remember chatting with you on the phone a couple hours after
Nik and Del had left your house....wish I would've been able to talk to
them! But I digress--!
Anyway I don't know who the guy was with the record, but he was one of the
more inconspicuous vendors there, kind of on the side where the concession
area was. I'd love to go to another Hawk-related festival purely for the
merchandise available at such a show, even the Hawks don't make it!
Chuck Johnson, another Hawk fan I've traded with for ages was also at SD98
though we never met one another. In fact, the whole time I was there I
didn't talk to another single person that I had known previously, although
in retrospect they were all there! Just general reclusiveness I suppose.
