No... I think people are the prevention the experience of God(dess)

religion should just be a tool to aid in that experience

sadly some people worship their tools merely because they are more tangible
than  a Goddess that is not quite so tangible to the average person

the more the tool is worshipped the further they get away from the
experience they seek - the experience of a closeness with their deity - dig
it ??
