Yeh - I can relate to that but I go even further out - I suppose to many I
have what may be termed a 'dream job' - I review CD's for the CDS catalogues
(among other things - if I did that all day every day I'd be deaf as a post
by now) but it's only a 'dream job' if you have a genuine musical taste that
is wider than even Keith's here. One of the most asked questions about the
ten or so catalogues for which I do the reviews is 'well, they're all good
reviews - of course you have to sell the things so you can't surely
genuinely like everything can you?'.......to which the answer is 'yes I
darned well can' and to this day from my point of view as chief but not sole
reviewer, it only goes into a catalogue if I like it and that's the only
criteria I use. So, for those who want the job, as long as you can extol the
virtues of Alien Dreaming, Dar Williams, Devin Townsend, Ian Boddy,
Glasshammer (not the prog band), Judie Tzuke, Swag, Tori Amos, Circle and
Faust in one day then there's hope for you yet.
