Ambient textures or Bleep 'n' Booster beeps, ELP-ish ear injury or Kraftwerkian constructions??? That is the question!
I've always wondered what a Kraftwerk version of Damnation Alley would sound like (a hybrid of Autobahn and Motorway City). Or some of the early-ish Tangerine Dream sounds on say, Warrior. Synths are wonderful things - unfortunately they can also be the (Moog) source of the 70's Moog solo, or extended Prog noodling, or worse - let's spend ages trying to make it sound like a cello, or a violin, or a trumpet - go down that road and it will just end up sounding turgid. Look what happened to Tangerine Dream and Ashra.
