I don't think ebay inflates the prices themselves. I think that there
may a small amount of sellers that might have the price upped using
someone elses user id and password. But I think that it has a lot to do
with the fact that there are a lot more people on ebay then a couple of
years ago and people in a bidding situation will sometimes pay more for
something they want then they really should. (I know this from
experience). Sometimes I feel it is my last chance to get something I
want, and if I want it, I better be ready to pay for it. About 2.5 years
ago when I started on ebay there were an average of 30 to 50 items at a
time and I was getting great deals left and right. Today, there seems to
be an average of 150 items on at once and a lot more competition. In the
beginning looking for Porcupine Tree there were lengthy periods of time
with no items at all. Now there is always 30 to 50 items on, and except
for the most common stuff, you usually pay alot for the harder to get
stuff.
