OFF/HW: double bass...who's on first? what's on second?

I understand, that's pretty much excatly the way I approach my bass playing,
and talking about music in general.
I get bored pretty quick with the straight passages and have to throw a few
hooks and chops in to spice the pot and keep me occupied...
