Hi Alfred,
Welcome to boc-l! You may have more success with Hawkwind-related queries
if you put 'HW' in the message subject (as I have added) since the listserv
has automatic message filtering capabilities.
There's a list of all known recorded Hawkwind gigs floating around.
There's probably a more accessible place to find it, but one place it
exists is here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/neo-quark/files/Important%20files/Hawkwind%
20tracks.txt
You'll probably need to join the Neo-Quark mailing list on Yahoo! in order
to access the file, but if you're into trading live Hawkwind recordings,
you'll *definitely* want to join that list.
Unfortunately, the earliest known Hawkwind live recording is 23.05.1970,
PORT TALBORT, FESTIVAL. Mick Slattery had already left the band by then.
I'm not aware of any similar list of Calvert gigs. That would be an
interesting one to assemble, since many of his "gigs" were special
theatrical events (such as the 'Kid From Silicon Gulch' rock operetta or
the 'Hype' shows). There are several recordings from his '86 tour with
Krankschaft (aka Steve Pond and Fred Reeves ex-ICU) similar to the 'Queen
Elizabeth Hall' live album. An entire show (excellent sound and
performance quality) can be downloaded on MP3 here:
http://www.innercityunit.com/
(click the Calvert & ICU link, and scroll to the bottom of the page)
Hope this helps ...
