Yeah, the world needs more (not less) good bass players.  While I was
never a big fan of The Who (oh I didn't think they were bad - just never
got really into their music), Entwistle was a pioneer in his field - one
of the first bassists (if not the first) to use roundwound strings for a
brighter tone.  And who can forget the classic bass solo in "My Generation"?
