And please, do tell Kim (who is probably a superior bassist to anyone on
boc-l, certainly myself!) that I'm a big fan of Dadamah / Flies Inside The
Sun / Dora Marr / etc.  (I suspect that we may share a few acquaintences,
since I and at least one of my bandmates have worked with several NZ
musicians.)

Since you've never seen Hawkwind, I assume that you were unaware of the NZ
tour in 2000?  Everything I've heard about that tour indicates that there
was no real promotion whatsoever.  It would have been very cool if you had
been able to work with them ...
