Good question on the banned words.

I believe I found some good info here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_dirty_words

In the Killing Joke interview ... I know the DJ had to remove a couple sh*ts.

;)

I didn't even notice them when hearing the uncut interview since that's a
pretty common word in today's vocabulary, that I probably use myself too
much too, for better or worse.

I'll probably find out more about this next year in school since I'm a first
semester Broadcast Captioning student ... that is, someone who's learning to
do "closed captioning" for TV.

Let's hope the words get bleeped out in the live feeds I'll be getting so I
don't have to think about whether I should type it or not! In court, they
probably do type the exact words since they need a verbatim record of what
was said.

Censorship. Not to endorse the "banned" words but after they've been used
so much in today's society, they've really lost a lot of their shock value.

I suppose they're not words someone would want their kid using though ...

I'm very opposed to censorship of any kind but I'm not a parent and could
see why they might not want young children exposed to certain things before
they should be.

Hope those of you who are interested in Killing Joke find the interview
worthwhile. I learned a few new things. I should have posted OFF: before
the subject but forgot ...

The lead singer, Jaz Coleman, was introduced to rock at 15 by a girl who got
him stoned and played him a Can album! More about that in this article:

So, a little spacerock connection there. :)

Karen
