I should add the that easy solution for any given band is probably to
hook up with the likes of <http://www.livedownloads.com/> (which is
itself powered from <http://www.nugs.net/>).  They handle
pay-to-download sales of live recordings for a whole pile of bands
(including Metallica) and the now-annual Bonnaroo festival.
